James Martin Wright, 72, of Springville AL passed away on Saturday October 2, 2021 after a short battle with pneumonia due to Covid-19.

James was preceeded in death by his parents, Carl and Lillian Wright. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Eunice Niemeyer Wright, his Daughter Amanda Higginbotham, her Husband Eric Higginbotham, his two granddaughters, Lillian and Audrey Higginbotham and his sister Barbara R. Kirkland.

James was born in Birmingham AL. He attended John J. Eagen primary school and graduated from Phillips High School.

James was a member of the US Navy and served aboard the USS Saratoga.

After his service, James returned to Birmingham and prospered in a long career in telecommunications and eventually retired from AT&T in 2014.

James was a loving and devoted father, husband, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all those that knew him.

Graveside services will be held with Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens on Saturday October 9th at 10am.

The family asks for thoughts and prayers, but no flowers or gifts at this time.
