Dad lived a full and interesting life. He recalled ship board experiences while serving in the US Navy often. The captain of the USS Bairoko happened to play tennis. Jim was frequently halted by the shipmate monitoring leave to instead play tennis with the Captain rather than joining his crew mates ashore. This was an order, not a request. As a result, Jim never let the Captain win, and put on an extraordinary display of resolve and talent on the tennis court. His accomplishments in the field of Oil and Gas put him in the top ranks of acclaimed geologists, and was named in Who's Who for his writings on geologic exploration of fossil fuels. I am so proud of my father I could fly at 30,000 elevation. He will live in my heart along side my mom, as the best friends and companions in my adult years, and solid parents to my 2 brothers Mike and Rob. Family pets were part of the family and I want to mention Loopy our Husky, Tyler our Golden Retriever, and Nibbs our Boxer. The Edwards family enjoyed camping, skiing, hiking, fishing in the Sierras and the Rockies. There was never a loss for a story to share, as this family was blessed to live life in abundance. With dad at the helm, we knew we were protected and loved.
