James "Jimmie" Edwards, 94, of San Marcos, CA, passed away on April 23, 2022 after a long rewarding life with family friends and travels.
James was born March 1928 to Lionel Leroux and Adlarose Martin. After graduating from Venice High School 1944, he went on to study Geology at UCLA and USC. His Business MA was achieved at University of Denver 1955. He landed his first job as Sales Manager Rocky Mtn division of McCullough Tool Company for for 40 years. In 1948, he met Patricia McCullough, and they wed in 1949 , going on to have 3 children, Robert McCullough Edwards, Elizabeth Terri Edwards and Michael Leroux Edwards. He was raised by John Chandler Edwards who adopted Jim, having married Adlarose following the death of her first husband Lionel. James served in the United States Army and the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War on USS Bairoko. James was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of his children, and wife Pat, and always tried his best to support them.
James was also a passionate, avid tennis player. He could also often be found playing clarinet during his youth. He traveled the world for business, to the North Sea where he toured parts of Scotland out of Edinburgh. In 2016 he sailed to Lima, Peru with his wife Pat and daughter Terri on Holland America from San Diego. Anyone who knew James knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. James was predeceased by his son Michael, his wife Patricia and his grandson Jesse Joshuah Edwards. He is survived by Robert and Robert's wife Barbro and Elizabeth, or Terri his daughter who cared for his well being in his final 5 years..
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Wounded Warriors. There will be a Memorial Service with Celebration of Life on Saturday June 11 at 2 o'clock pm, Palomar Estates Clubhouse 1930 W San Marcos Blvd. San Marcos, CA.
