James was always so helpful and honestly, I never saw him when he wasn’t smiling. The beautiful purple wall in the Attendance/Registration Office exists because James gathered all the materials needed for the office staff to paint the wall. James will be missed at RUHS and also remembered as the extraordinary person he was. Glad to have known him.
I'm very saddened to hear about James' passing. I was very lucky to have re-met James later in my life after he and my dad worked together around the time I was born. I went to the high-school where James worked; he treated and respected us as if we were adults, even as kids. It was always light and joyful when James was around and he was a constant good spirit.

As office staff, I had the pleasure of getting to know James. He was truly amazing and one of a kind. Always smiling and willing to help anyone. Over the years, James touched the lives of thousands at RUHS and we are so blessed to have known him. ❤️

One day Mr. Madrid was trying to get a hold of me and left a voicemail.  The visual Voicemail said only one word. With his accent, Mr. Madrid simply said "jail". When I shared this on Facebook, James thought this was hilarious! Every morning when he greeted me from there on out I was "Jail!" To which I would return "Jayymmmes". I really miss his friendly face and great sense of humor!

I cannot believe James is gone.  He was such a wonderful person with such an enchanting demeanor is forever smiling down upon us.  Gone yes, but never, ever forgotten.  Rest in Peace buddy.  Raising a brewski at Kon Tiki, in your name.
