Fred's obituary
James Fredrick "Fred" Louther, 88, of Euless, Texas, was called to be with the Lord on February 14, 2024. Born on August 22, 1935, in Catlettsburg, Kentucky, he was the son of the late James Elliott Louther and Martha Louther.
A man of devout faith and enduring kindness, Fred's life was a testament to his unwavering faith. He embodied the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. His gentle humor and kindheartedness were a beacon of light to his family and community and was a living example of Christian virtues. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, traits that endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Louther, and their cherished children: Jimmy Louther (Tammy), Cheryl White (Gregg), Karl Louther (Sandra), Chris Louther (Annastasia), and Sarah Caten (Craig), grandchildren: Brittany Lessner (Chris), Gregg White, Nathaniel Louther (Kate), Autumn Louther, Winter Louther, Savannah Caten, Israel Louther, and C.J. Caten; and great-grandchildren: Ciera White, Emilee White, and D.J. Garcia. His memory will be treasured and will continue to be guided by his wisdom and joy.
Fred was predeceased by his parents and his beloved granddaughter, Madison Caten, who have welcomed him into the kingdom of Heaven with open arms.
An alumnus of the University of Texas at Austin, Fred served his nation with pride in the Air Force before embarking on a successful career in Human Resources at Employers Insurance Company. His work ethic and commitment to his profession were unmatched.
A faithful member of South Euless Baptist Church, Fred lived his faith through acts of kindness and his unwavering commitment to his community. He was a steward of God's word and lived a life that reflected his deep spiritual convictions.
Fred's pastimes included tending to his garden, avidly watching football, and most importantly, cherishing the moments spent with his family. These simple pleasures brought great joy to Fred and those around him.
A service to honor Fred's life will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 10:00 am at Shady Grove Baptist Church, 6649 Precinct Line, North Richland Hills, Texas. The service will be a solemn tribute to a life marked by faith, family, and service.
In remembrance of Fred, we are reminded of the words of Scripture: "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4). May Fred's soul find eternal peace in the loving arms of our Creator, and may those he leaves behind find comfort in their memories of him.
