James Lion Jones, passed away unexpectedly on April 25, 2022.

Jay is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Robert “Bob” Jones and Ruth “Sandy” Fregin, three brothers Matthew and his wife Holly Jones and Jared and his wife Lily Jones, and Trevor Jones and his son Gavin, along with uncles, aunts, cousins and many close friends who were like family to him.

Jay was born January  9, 1973, in Hayti, Missouri and has lived here his entire life. He was a practical joker with a generous heart of gold, never hesitating to help people out. Because he was a big kid at heart, his nieces and nephews adored him along with the children of his close friends. He was known for his friendliness and never hesitated to let people know that he loved them. He was a sneakerhead and an aficionado of collectibles. Whatever he set his mind to he was determined to get done. He was the self-proclaimed “world’s greatest brick mason” and his handiwork can be seen throughout the Tidewater area.
