James's obituary
Jim's life was full of what he called "the good stuff." He had a wonderful childhood, full of adventure and mischief with his beloved sister and their dear cousins. The fun continued into his early adulthood—so much so, that he claims he forgot about a year of it.
After growing up (and mellowing out) some more, Jim went on to own his own pool cleaning business, and was blessed with two children from his wife, Debbie, who remained one of his best friends and closest confidantes even after their divorce. That's just who Jim was: the most kind-hearted man, without an ounce of hate or animus toward anybody, no matter the circumstance—though he was occasionally known to throw a few jabs at President Trump.
In the last year of his life, he was ecstatic to have met his first grandson, Dax Michael. Jim was the best grandpa Dax could've asked for: From singing "This Old Man" to Dax as a newborn, to guiding his little feet around the kitchen as Dax prepared to start walking, Jim relished every second. Though they only had a short time together, Dax will always know how big a place he held in his grandpa's heart.
Heaven gained a good one the day Jim arrived. We hope you are doing all the crosswords you can handle, fishing with your dad and Michael, and snacking on some peanut butter and mayonnaise burritos—his favorite.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service to remember Jim and the wonderful life he led, on Sunday, October 21 at 2:00 p.m. at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona Del Mar, California.
