Jim's obituary

James Landes Kerr, 84, of Duncannon passed peacefully at home on May 22, 2021, surrounded by
family, after a courageous battle following several heart surgeries.

He was born December 3, 1936 at Spring Mount, Montgomery County, PA to
Eugene Keyser Kerr and Martha Landes Kerr. He was the youngest of five children
and grew up on a dairy farm near Skippack, PA. He was a lifelong farmer, moving
to Perry County in 1975 where the family raised beef, hogs, hay and crops near
Blain. Later moving to a smaller farm near New Bloomfield and farming on a
smaller scale, raising produce and mums which he marketed on site, enjoying
meeting and visiting with customers.

He will be remembered for his quick wit, easy laugh and for his love of long
conversations with friends, of which he had many. He enjoyed reading Biblical and
Native American history and all things agricultural and weather related.

Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years, Katherine (Kay) Horst Kerr, a son, J. Karl
Kerr and his daughters, (Katherine Davis Kerr and Courtney Landes Kerr, Enola, PA),
a daughter, Susan Kay Quackenbush and her sons, (Maxwell Craig Quackenbush
and Peter James Quackenbush, Vancouver Island BC, Canada), a sister Mae Kerr
Alderfer, Sellersville, PA, and his beloved dog, ‘Gracie.’

He was preceeded in death by his parents, brothers Wilmer L. Kerr and Lloyd L.
Kerr and sister Grace Kerr Sauder Hall.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held August 22, 2021 at 2 pm at New Buffalo alliance Church, Duncannon, PA.   To contact the
