After his military career, James lived life to the fullest. He was an aviation enthusiast and a car racing fan. James had a passion for muscle cars and anything that was loud and fast. His true joy in life came from spending time with his family and friends. His entire adult life, he rose early in the morning to enjoy time with friends over coffee. He treasured their time together and their friendship deeply. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man who loved to laugh and who never met a stranger. He was a devoted husband who was proud of all of his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife, Mary Lynn, he is survived by two sons, Joseph of Richmond, and William of Great Falls, Mont.; a daughter, Sheila of Hobe Sound, Fla., one sister, Leanne Johanson of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and six grandchildren, Dustin, Andrea, Tayla, Hunter, Braeden, and Adriana.
