James D. Kercinik

James "Jim" D. Kercinik, 49, of Minooka, Illinois, passed away on May 17, 2025. Jim was born on September 12, 1975, in Chicago, Illinois.

A proud graduate of Mount Carmel High School, Jim went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University of Illinois Chicago. He dedicated his professional life to public service, working with the Illinois Department of Corrections for 27 years as a correctional officer.

Jim was a devoted husband survived by his wife, Laura, and a caring stepfather to Lucas. He cherished his role in their lives and embraced his family with love.

Jim is survived by his beloved parents, Audrey and Alan D. Kercinik. They are heartbroken by their loss.

Jim will be deeply missed by his family, friends and colleagues.

Cremation is being handled by Illinois Cremation Centers in Lombard, Illinois.
