High Point - James Stanfield Johnson, 74, of High Point, formerly of Hillsborough, entered his heavenly home on November 10, 2005. He was born on December 23, 1930, a son of Henry Clay Johnson and Ethel Miller Johnson. He graduated from Hillsborough High School and attended North Carolina State University and Piedmont Bible College. He was a farmer all his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He received many medals and honors, among them, Army of Occupation Medal, Japan Korean Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and W/C Bronze Sv. Stars. He was married to Judith Gaye Watts on March 19, 1960. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Phillip Johnson. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Durham where he taught Bible School. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who always put honesty first in his business life and personal life. He loved his family and taught them to be honest and truthful in all their ways. He will forever be remembered for his dedication to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and also to his family. Surviving are the wife of the home, his six children, James "Stan" Stanfield Johnson and wife, Kim, of Kernersville, Donna Marie Johnson of High Point, Elizabeth Marlene Thomas and husband, the Rev. Gerald Thomas, of Oscilla, Ga., Martha Darlene Lowe, and husband, Michael of Trinity, Catherine Louise Barnard of Archdale and Christopher Clay Johnson and wife, Julie of Archdale, NC; five grandchildren: Joshua, Kaitlyn, Kristen, Emily and Colton Johnson; four brothers, Samuel Johnson and wife Fannie of Newport News, Va., Henry Clay Johnson and wife, Jeanette, Robert Johnson of Charlotte and Ned Johnson and wife Sue; sister-in-law Mary Sue Johnson; many loving nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends. Funeral service will be held, Saturday at 2 p.m. at Sechrest Funeral Home in Archdale, NC with the Rev. Gerald Thomas and the Rev. John Watts, Sr. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to BBN Christian Radio, Charlotte, 28241-7300 or to the J.S.
