James (Jim) Cameron Hutton (6/15/1945 to 2/1/2025) was a proud graduate of Texas A&M (1967) and a New York State certified Professional Mechanical Engineer. After a distinguished career of more than 30 years designing firearms and firearm components for Remington Arms in Ilion, NY, Jim established his own consulting business, Hutton Engineering Services, and continued to apply his natural abilities as an expert witness in legal cases related to firearm design, function, and performance, often clearly demonstrating the cause of incidents, including by using handmade models. Jim was a natural teacher who believed that safe handling education was the answer to responsible gun ownership, and anyone who knew him can attest to the fact that he was very good at delivering such education. Jim was a notable and upstanding member of his community and will be missed.
