Jim's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James "Jim" Hoodless, who left us on August 2, 2023. Born in Seattle on February 21, 1945, Jim graduated from Issaquah High School in 1963, before earning his Bachelors degree in Accounting from the University of Washington in 1966. That same year, he married his loving wife, Evelyn Hoodless, and they started their family, raising three children together.

Jim was a successful entrepreneur, one of his greatest accomplishments was running Abrasives and Equipment Supply. He loved his local sports teams, in the fall you would find him in the stands at Husky stadium or watching the Seahawks or Mariners. In later years his greatest pleasure was coffee with friends and spending time with his family. Jim was an avid reader and had a sweet tooth especially for chocolate chip cookies and chocolate milkshakes. His personality, best described as friendly and loyal, brought a warm atmosphere to every gathering.

Surviving Jim are his wife, Evelyn Hoodless; his daughters, Jennifer Hinkle and Jill Hammitt; his son, Carter Hoodless; his grandsons, Kyle Hinkle and Sam Hammitt; and his granddaughter, Allegra Hoodless.

Although Jim's physical presence will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of his loved ones. We are comforted by memories of his easy smile, congenial nature, and the strong bonds he formed with those around him

A celebration of life will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 12th at Blakely Hall. Located at 2550 NE Park Drive in Issaquah, WA
