James Hoit Sparks March 12, 1936 - May 22, 2022

James Hoit Sparks, 86, of Gaffney, S.C. went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at his residence.

Born in Cherokee Falls, S.C. he was the husband of the late Ruby Louise Durham Sparks and son of the late Joseph E. Sparks and Henrietta Banks Sparks.

He retired from Hoechst Fibers and American Security and attended Trinity Fellowship. He loved his family and his church and going to classic car shows.

Surviving are two sons, James Tony Sparks of the home and Michael Sparks (Melanie) of Gaffney; a daughter, Rachel Marie Sparks of Gaffney SC.; grandson Matthew Landon Sparks, five other grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy William Sparks, six sisters and three brothers.
