James Allen Head Jr., age 58, of Dahlonega, passed on peacefully overnight Sunday, August 17, 2025.

James Allen Jr.- husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, or Allen to those who knew and loved him was born in Gainesville, GA, on October 9, 1966. He was brought into the world by two loving parents, his father James Allen Head Sr. and mother Rose Ann (Head) Thilges, both preceding him in death. Allen lived the majority of his life in Dahlonega. In 1985, at 19 years old, he met the love of his life and his future wife of the next 39 years, Joyce Lynn (Baker) Head. Together, they would go on to have three children and six grandchildren.

Loved by each of us, Allen Head is survived by his wife, Joyce Head; son and daughter-in-law, James (A.J.) Allen Head III and Natalie Ruth Cunningham, Dawsonville; son and daughter-in-law, Joshua Andrew and Amber Brooke Head, Dahlonega; daughter and son-in-law, Dakota Lynn and William Fulcher, Dahlonega; grandchildren, Mary-Jane Riley Head, Leona Star Ballew, Cona Bell London Head, Mia James Raine Head, Zane Allen Fulcher, Raleigh Drue Fulcher; sister, Sharon Denise Caldwell, Dahlonega; niece and nephew, Ashley Rose (Beatty) McGurkin, Charlotte, N.C., Tyler James Beatty, Dahlonega.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., with visitation prior from 12:00-2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. Rev. Lyman Hall of Concord Baptist Church will officiate.
