James's obituary

It is with profound sadness that the family of James Russell Duddy, AKA "Jimmy", AKA "Jimm", formally of Colorado, Arizona and Bangor Maine, passed on September 10, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Ann Duddy for 47 years. Devoted father to Brian Jude Duddy and Monica Irene McArdle. Treasured "Gramps" to Morgan, Brenden and Isabella McArdle and Mackenzie Duddy. James is survived by his sisters, Dorothy Duddy and Jane Olivier as well as his brother, William Duddy. James was one of 13 Duddy children. James was a proud, retired,  26 year USAF Vietnam Veteran. After "retirement", he spent 15 more years working for IBM, of which he again "tried" to retire. As much of his life was spent looking for ways to help and serve others, Jimm continued to find ways to keep busy; all the way through his 92 years of age. He served on multiple committees at the Veterans' Community Living Center where he spent the last 4 years of his life, his goal was to make it the best place it could be for both residents and staff alike. James was a highly devout Catholic, his faith and spirituality lead him to live a life centered around dedication, discipline and a desire to assist and promote others. James will forever be remembered by his generous, kind and loving big heart. All who had the opportunity to meet him knew of the extraordinary presence of the man he was. A requiem mass and celebration of life will be held September 27, 2023 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1800 N. Camino Pio Decimo, Tucson, AZ 85715. Internment will take place September 28, 2023 at Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery at Marana, 15950 N. Luckett Rd., Marana, AZ85653
