James David Smith

August 21, 1973 - August 7, 2023

Dave passed away unexpectedly at home at age 49.

Dave was born in Elmira, NY. He spent his childhood in North Carolina and New York where he played baseball. He graduated in Bath, NY from Haverling High School in 1991, where he swam on the swim team.

Then he immediately enlisted in the United States Marines Corps. and moved to Florida in 1994. In 2005 he welcomed his son Brian to the world, who was his pride and joy! Dave was a lover of music and attended hundreds of live concerts, mostly his favorite band Phish. He was an Executive Chef at Life and could cook anything. He was hard-working and stubborn, but also a big teddy bear that will be missed terribly by all who knew him.

Dave is survived by his only son Brian Smith (Mom - Brenda Koepke), Mother Kathryn "Lynn" Smith, Father David T Smith, brothers Dana (Kelly) Smith, Derek Smith and Dustin (Erin) Smith. Nephews David Smith, Mason Smith, Mercer Smith, Donovan Smith and niece Taylor Smith. As well as his girlfriend Anne Kennedy and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many lifetime Friends.

Dave was predeceased by his Aunts Judith McElroy, Virginia "Deedee" McElroy and Uncle Bill McElroy.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, 4:00 pm at George's Bar & Grill. Located at 5507 Edgewater Dr. Orlando, FL 32810. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone, for all the support, prayers, and condolences during this very difficult time.
