James's obituary
James was born January 29, 1952 in Waco, TX to James and Dorothy Compton. He was one of four children born to this union. He graduated Waco High School in 1970 and went on to receive a degree from Paul Quinn College in Business Administration in 1975.
On January 29, 1982, he married his beloved wife of 36 years, Vivian Carter Compton and raised four loving children.
James worked as a Supervisor at Roadway Trucking for over 30 years before his retirement.
James Compton leaves to cherish his memory: three sons, Rodney Jackson (Holly), Willie Jackson III (Monica), and Youree Hawkins (Tasha); two daughters, Ashley Eisenman (Anthony) and Brittany Taylor (Winston); his brother, Don Compton and sisters, Vondrea and Velicia Compton. He also leaves his grandchildren: Chadwick, Whitney, Breanna, Rodney Jr., Lani, Devon, Brayln, Bryce, Brooklyn, Rosalie, TRE, Dawson, Youree Jr., and Jeremiah. Additionally, James will be dearly missed by his great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy Compton.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
