James "Pete" Chumley Sr., affectionately known to many as Pete but preferring James, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, having been born on June 16, 1952. He is remembered for his enduring  spirit, a personality trait that often manifested as stubbornness, but which stood as a testament to his unwavering resolve.

He leaves behind a legacy of strength and resilience, embodied in his children and stepchildren. His daughters, Heather Coleman Montgomery,  Tammy Wilson, Angel Moxley,  His son, James Chumley, bears his name and carries forward his memory.

James Sr. also had an extended family who loved him dearly, his stepdaughters, Michelle Ennis and Cassandra Ennis Cline, who were an integral part of his life. Despite his loss, his spirit lives on within each of them, a testament to his impact and the love that he shared.

James Sr. was married to Diane Chumley, his beloved wife who predeceased him. Their love story was one of the ages, filled with memories that will forever be treasured.
