I worked with Roland for 20 years. We became good friends and shared lots of good times. I now work with his son James who has followed in his footsteps.  Roland is proud of his kids and grandkids and spoke of them often. I am happy I got to see him a month ago and it was a good visit that made us both happy. I am really going to miss Roland.
The Chankins are part of my life story. Their home was my refuge in high school and they have always loved me like one of their own. We spent many nights around their kitchen table sharing dinners and swapping stories. Not to mention all the volleyball adventures and holiday memories we shared. Mr. C was my second Dad and I am forever grateful for his and Mrs. C’s unconditional love, support, and encouragement over the years.  Mrs. C, you are in my thoughts and prayers and I love you! ❤️ Peace be with you all as you gather to celebrate his life.

They say that the evidence of a man's character is reflected in his children. Although I never knew Roland, I have seen the man his son, Archie, turned out to be. I am thankful that Roland's children and grandchildren continue to live out and honor Roland's legacy. We pray for the whole family and desire to support Archie and his family in this loss.
Mr. Roland was always a source of inspiration to me and my family while we lived in Texas.  He always found a way to encourage me.  I thank God for putting him in my path.  He was a great man, and an even better friend.

I met Roland a little more than 15 years ago. Rarely have I met a person as intelligent, kind, and generous. He would often make time to teach me the trade and coach me in hydronics. Roland is a True Gentleman in every sense of the word. My condolences for his family and friends. The world would be a much better place if there were more people like him. God bless his family as he rests in the arms of our Lord.

Sooo many memories from so many years. I can’t begin to express my sorrow at your loss. Lots of prayers for God’s comfort to fold you in His arms during the days and weeks ahead.
