We remember James as an artist who walked the steps ofNorth Beach and was accepted by the other North Beach artists as a peer, and as a great Buddhist and a great friend.
When I led chanting sessions, James would tell me, "don't fidget" . Now every time I lead a session and I begin to "fidget", I hear James saying "don't fidget". Also, anytime I walk by Caffe Trieste I expect to see James sitting outside with Pasha on his shoulder, while he sips a coffee and smokes a cigarette.
