After a nearly 4 year battle with cancer, James Cassa passed peacefully and pain-free in sleep on February 9, 2026. Jimmie, as he was called then, was born on June 20, 1942 to Peter and Zarifa Cassi in Detroit, Michigan. He is preceded in death by his parents as well as his brothers, Don and Eddie.
Jim was raised in a Chaldean household so could speak the language fluently, though later in life he’d say …
