James Warren Carr Jr.,64, of Alton, New Hampshire, passed away on March 23rd, 2024. A memorial service will be held at Belfast City Park in Belfast, Maine on Friday, June 14th, 2024 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm followed by a graveside service at the Carr Family Cemetery in Monroe, Maine.
James was born on September 21st, 1959, in Belfast, Maine. He is the son of Maxine Joyce (York) Smirles, of Somersworth, New Hampshire and James Warren Carr Sr. of Monroe, Maine. He attended Spaulding High School in Rochester, New Hampshire, received his associate degree in Computer Science from McIntosh College in 1998, and a Bachelor of Science from Southern New Hampshire University in 2002. His most recent jobs included being the Senior Vacuum Metallization Technician at Textron Automotive from 1982-2003, he moved on to graduate the Apprenticeship at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a Marine Electrician in 2007 where he became a well-respected supervisor until 2013. He then went on to fulfill his dream job of being a Solo Long Haul Truck Driver for Crete Carrier Corporation where he received multiple awards for his dependable hard work and safe driving practices. James loved being able to travel to see the sights of the country. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, being outside in the wilderness, fishing, hiking, building canoes, woodworking, and spending time with his family. His diligent work ethic, dependability, integrity, and his sense of humor will be missed by many and never forgotten.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vicky (Smith) Carr, son Joshua Carr (wife Shiela), daughter Jennifer Carr, mother Maxine (York) Smirles, father James Carr Sr., brothers Timothy Carr and Stephen Carr, sisters Lisa Jones, Laura (Jeff) Hislop, and Robin (Thom) Powers, grandchildren Kristian Ebuen and Keith Carr, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
