It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rev. James "Jay" Parker, who departed this life on November 26, 2023. Born on July 11, 1961, James, often known as Jay, was a beacon of love and dedication to his family and those around him.
James's memory will be lovingly cherished by his devoted wife, Ronda Parker, and his daughter, the light of his life, Krystal Ivy, step daughters Hannah and Rebekah, and stepson Nathan. He was a beloved uncle to his niece, Angel Keeling, and his great nephew, Devon, and a caring brother to his sister, Donna Young. He had four grandkids, Sidney Ivy, Nickolai Lindemann, Rosie Herring, and Josh Herring. Preceding him in death were his dear mother, Laverne Carter, and his father, Don Tackett.
James was a dedicated husband, whose unwavering commitment to his loved ones was a testament to his great character. His kindness was a source of strength and support to his family, carving deep grooves of love that will echo in their hearts forever.
James was a man of extraordinary love and spirit. His light shone brightly in the tapestry of life, touching those around him in powerful and transformative ways. Though he has closed his eyes to our world, his spirit endures in the hearts of those who loved him. It is our fervent prayer that he is now at peace in the arms of his Father in Heaven. His love will forever be etched in our hearts, and his spirit will live on in the familial bonds and values he helped forge. He will be sorely missed.
