He is survived by his adoring wife, Marge Burgett, to whom he was married for many fruitful and joyous years. A cherished father, James leaves behind his two daughters, Kathryn Burgett, and his two sons, John and Jay Burgett, who carry forward his values and principles in their own lives as a tribute to their father.

The proud grandfather of Brandon Winter, Erica Hughes, Kendall Koch, Mikayla Woods, Morgan McCann, Khloe Hughes, Sophia Hughes, and Bentley Hughes; James instilled in his grandchildren the important lessons of truth and hard work. His void will be deeply felt in their lives, even as they strive to uphold his teachings and embody the noble qualities their grandfather personified.

A man of faith, James was a regular attendee of St Stephens church. His spiritual beliefs were central to his character, providing him guidance and strength throughout his life. His dedication to service was not limited to his faith; James also served as a volunteer at the Loyal Order of Moose. The impact of his contributions will be long remembered in the hearts of those he served.
