James's obituary

James D. Buis (Jim), 69, passed away peacefully November 4th, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE.

Jim was born September 18th, 1952 in Lincoln, NE to Melvin and Dorothy (Termaat) Buis. He graduated from Norris High School class of 1971. Jim and Lodeen (Nyhoff) were married in August of 1971 in Lincoln, NE and married for 50 years and had two beautiful daughters, Jamie and Liz. He was the owner of JB Construction till 2010. Jim loved to golf and enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren's activities.

Survived by wife Lodeen (Nyhoff) Buis, Omaha, NE and daughters Jamie Smith and husband Brian from Grand Junction, CO and Liz Wright and husband John from Omaha, NE. He had four grandchildren: Jesse, Sawyer, Alexis, and Dominic. Also survived by brother Keith Buis from Boise, ID and sister-in-law Sue Ellsworth from Cushing, IA. Nephews Corey, Cole, Troy, Chad and niece, April ,as well as several cousins.

Jim was predeceased by his brother, Gary, and parents Melvin and Dorothy.

Viewing will be Monday, November 8th at Westlawn Hillcrest Memorial Park and Funeral Home at 5701 Center St, Omaha, NE from 5pm to 7pm. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10am at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home 6800 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE with a viewing from 9am to 10am, graveside service immediately following and reception after.

Pall bearers: Brian Smith, John Wright, Corey Buis, Chad Buis, Tony Vargas, Jose Varela.
