Brian's obituary

James "Brian" Kelley, 57, of Knoxville, TN, entered into eternal rest with Jesus on September 18, 2025 after struggling with many health challenges in this life.

A native of Scottdale, PA, Brian made his home in Knoxville, TN where he graduated from Johnson Bible College (now Johnson University) in 1991. An exceptional musician, Brian also completed some graduate work in Vocal Performance at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. For many years he was active as a singer with the Knoxville Opera and as a featured soloist in the Knoxville Nativity Pageant. He was active as a worship leader at his church, Christ Chapel in Knoxville, until the time of his passing.

Brian was predeceased by his father, William “Buck” Kelley in 2013 and brother, Timothy Kelley in 2005. He is survived by his mother, Alice Weaver Kelley, 87, of Scottdale, PA; brothers, David and Shawn; fiancee, Stephanie Ritter; several nieces, a nephew, and a great nephew; countless friends and church members.

Funeral services will be held at Berry Highland Memorial Funeral home, 5315 Kingston Pike in Knoxville on Wednesday evening, September 24.  Family will receive visitors starting at 5:00 PM and the funeral service will begin at 7:00 PM.
