James Kenneth Bechtel passed away Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Stuart F Meyer Hospice House in Palm Coast Florida. Jim was the loving husband of Jeanette (Carr) Bechtel of Bunnell, Florida. Born in Allentown, PA, he was the son of the late Kenneth W. and Dorothy M. (Metzger) Bechtel of Lancaster PA.
Jim was a Vietnam War veteran and served in the United States Air Force during the late 60's and early 70's. After Jim's military service he was employed by Eastern Airlines, Miami, as an A&P mechanic and then the City of Fort Lauderdale.
Jim is survived by his wife, Jeanette, son Anthony Bechtel of West Palm Beach FL; daughter Melissa, wife of Bryant Herrera, and family, Show Low AZ; brothers David R. Bechtel, Thomas W. Bechtel, and Peter A. Bechtel of Lancaster PA.
A Memorial Service will be held later this Spring and Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
