James was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, where he graduated from Bryan High School in 1993.
He enjoyed a wide variety of activities. In his younger years, he could be found line dancing at Guitars and Cadillacs several times a week. As he got older, he took pleasure in playing video games with his friends online. He also loved to sit down and watch some good tv, including Star Trek and SpongeBob.
In 1997, he met Kim, who became the mother to his son Jaden in April of 1999. That following September, he married Kim and became the stepfather to Brian and Brittany.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Kim. As well as his parents Kendall and Suzanne.
He is survived by his son Jaden Barker and grandson Xavier Barker of Bellevue, his stepchildren Brian (Becca) Dimmick of Bellevue and Brittany (Kennith) Brooks of Council Bluffs.
