I met Jake when he had just turned 20.  He was visiting NYC for his Sister(Hayley) College graduation at NYU and he was sleeping on my sofa.  He beamed with pride at his big Sister.  He was full of life and could not wait to explore every corner in NYC and Brooklyn. He was fearless and lovable and on fire going 1000 miles a second.  This picture, taken much later was the happiest I had ever seen Jake. He would demand we visit in March because he would say, "You must come Now! The Mountains are so green they will  blind you!" He will always be remembered and missed. Happy Birthday Jake. Your loving Sister-in-Law always

Early 1980's  Jake helped CB make movies in Yorba Linda.  "The Breeze Brothers" Parody of The Blues Brothers.  Jake washes his brother Brad's 1967 Galaxy 500.  At 9 years old he acted in this movie which was to go into a bigger production called "Life in the Fast Lane" never to finish.  Brad opens the car door and water comes out in a flood.  Jake says to Brad, "You told me to wash it inside and out." Just a little comedy for fun.  I went to show this film to Jake's 6th grade class as Jake ask me to show the movie.  The school is Rose Drive elementary in Yorba Linda.  Jake may have been 9 or 10 when this film was made.

Later in 1980's Jake and his friend Chad stared in another production called, "Go to Outer Space Young Man." This film was story boarded and partly shot, but CB was not able to finish this film either.

Jake was a wonderful person and it is very sad that he passed away after starting a life as husband and a father.   I lost touch with the Ogle family as the years went by, and found this sad news on my phone one day in the 2020s...

My name was CB back in those Yorba Linda days of youth.  I go by Charles today and am glad I got to know the Robinson's and the Ogle kids back it seems like forever.

Life is very short, and my sympathy goes to all the family members of whom I have many childhood memories with.

Jake was such a an awesome guy.  So sad am I that he is gone.

Love you guys,

CB

Kristen, I just learned of your tremendous loss. I am so very sorry. You are strong, you are loved, and you have two beautiful children. You gave a wonderful man love and happiness.  I hope you find peace.

I woke up on our birthday from a dream with Jake in it. Nothing exciting, we were just working on a loft at The Brewery together.

There was a time when we would see each other almost everyday for coffee at Barbara's and when I think of him that's what I remember, just us being buddies drinking coffee on the porch, talking and sharing camera gear sometimes. I will often remember this on our birthday 🕊️💔🌈

Thank you for the beautiful obituary. I’m so glad he was at a happy place in his life. My condolences to Jake’s friends and family. He will be missed dearly.

I’d like to share a couple of childhood stories. When I was 8 I moved from San Louis Obispo to Yorba Linda. My family moved next door to Jake’s family and Jake and I happened to be the same age. Looking back at my childhood it was complete with Jake.

We built tree forts and explored as most kids. Although we always took it to the next level successfully. From building go carts, rafting storm drains or helping our neighbor film car stunts it was always next level. We would sneak out at midnight to ride our bikes 5 miles to the nearest Naugles to get the first breakfast burritos of the day. As well ride the other direction 5 miles to get peanut butter and chocolate malts at Baskin-Robbins. We would set up adventurous hikes out to Carbon Canyon lake to fish, cook over a fire and camp out. We built our own fireworks or explosives. We raised Guinea pigs and sold them to the local pet store. We bought our first motorcycle together…there were a lot of firsts. When he turned 15 he got a little yellow scooter that went 40 mph. We took that many places using back roads and a Thomas Guide. Dr. Demento, Blues Brothers, The Muppets and Oingo Boingo are imprinted in my mind with Jake jukin and jivin to. It was a fun household. Ann made the best Halloween costumes BTW. I could go on and on with many stories from that time in my life. I have Jake to thank for that.

I would like to express how good it was for me to have Jake and the Ogle’s as neighbors. Moving next to someone my age and being able to hang at their house made the impact of moving easy. Thank you Jake for being a great friend. Sorry I didn’t get the chance to see you and reminisce before you left here. Hope to see you again. Happy 50th! All my love to who knew and miss him.

What a tremendous loss. I’m so sorry for his family and friends. I knew Jake a long time ago but never forgot him. He and Sean both had that kind of charisma.  I’m so glad to learn that he lived  an incredible life with a beautiful family.  Gone far too soon. ❤️
I found an old shoebox full of pictures looking for pictures of Jake and Noah. Very first picture in the very first envelope was one of Jake. He always knew how to make an entrance and had impeccable timing. I haven't talked to him in a million years but will miss him terribly. Husband, father, brother, son and friend...he was loved by so many. I am so, so sorry for your loss 💙
