The purpose behind this foundation is to provide a platform to bring attention to illnesses such as addiction and mental health. A way to share Jake's story and provide insight to the boy he was, the man he became, and the joy he brought to the world. The money collected will go towards benefiting multiple causes in which those affected by addiction, mental illness and animal refuges. To those who had the pleasure of knowing Jake know him as the loving, charismatic and compassionate person he was. He loved to no limit and lived his life to the fullest. He was the comic relief during any dark day and provided a safe haven for those who needed it most. As bright of a light Jake was on the outside he suffered immensely on the inside. Jake fought a long battle with addiction and mental health that ultimately ended up taking his life.
Jake had a heart of gold and cared deeper than any ocean's depths. If it were possible he would create a cure to take away people's pain and suffering so they would never have to endure sadness or experience trauma in ways he did. The Jake Bucci foundation is not simply a charity or philanthropic act of kindness. It is much greater than that. It is how we will share the same passionate love with another person and carry him with us every day. How we will carry his legacy and give love and happiness to the world in ways Jake did. Love does not die with death and neither does a man while his name is still spoken. Jake and the love he still has to give will forever be living, living in the hearts of us all and in the hearts of those to come.
