Jade's obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jade Brown who left us peacefully on November 19, 2024. Jade was born on the 16th of June, 1976, and she lived her life filled with love, laughter, and a touch of cheeky sarcasm that all who knew her will miss.
Jade is survived by a large and loving family. Her children, Alyssa Johnstone and Dustin Reyes, have lost a mother. She leaves behind a mother, Pamela Leek, and a brother, Zachary Gilbert. Grandchildren Owen Garmire, Aria Banks, Noah Johnstone, and Isla Johnstone will miss their kind-hearted grandmother. Sister-in-law Eileen Gilbert, nephews Zander and Zane Gilbert will remember a woman who never hesitated to turn a family gathering into a fun event.
Jade’s personality was an eclectic blend of generosity, humor, sarcasm, and sociability. She had a knack for making people smile and her outgoing nature was infectious. Jade lived by the mantra “Well-behaved women rarely make history”, a testament to her audacious spirit, unwilling to conform to societal expectations.
Her home was a sanctuary to all who knew her, always open for a meal or a chat, and she was incredibly generous, often giving to others even when she had little to spare herself. Her greatest accomplishment, she often said, was her children. She lived her life for them and through them, leaving a legacy of love that will endure.
Jade’s favorite things were as unique as she was. She enjoyed a good White Russian, and listening to Fleetwood. When it came to art, Gustav Klimt was her favorite, and Jim Henson inspired her eclectic lifestyle. Her love for color shone through her favorite choice, green, bringing a sense of calmness and vitality everywhere she went. She treasured her special vacation spot, LaPush, a place where she found serenity and peace.
In lieu of flowers, a fund has been organized in Jade's honor, named "In Memory of Jade". Contributions may be made at www.everloved.com/life-of/jad…. Your generosity will ensure that Jade’s legacy of love, generosity, and zeal for life continues.
We mourn Jade's passing and celebrate her life. We remember a woman who embraced the world with a generous heart and an engaging spirit, and who leaves behind a family that will continue to honor her memory in love and gratitude.
