Jacqulyn's obituary
Jackie (Mom or Granny) was born in Chicago at the beginning of the depression and grew up in the mid-west. She attended Gerstmeyer Technical High School in Terre Haute, Indiana in 1948. She moved to Denver Colorado where she lived for the next 73 years. Jackie married Al Elio in January 1952 and they immediately started a family. Jackie was a stay-at-home mother and as such created a fabulous legacy. She is survived by her four children Patti Carr (Danny) and Debbi Corrigan (Joe), Joe Elio (Diane) and Paul Elio, as well as 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
In addition to raising children, she taught dance at Arthur Murray Studios, became a successful real-estate agent, and worked as a ward clerk and then volunteered for over ten years at St. Anthony Hospital. She was an actress who appeared in several commercials, many plays throughout the metro Denver area, and even made an appearance in “The Shining”. Jackie was an active parishioner of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, where she served as a Stephen Minister, a Eucharistic Minister and she was an active member of the Young at Heart Group.
Her funeral will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church located at 3141 W 96th Avenue Westminster, CO 80031 on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 10:30 a.m., followed by internment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, located at 12801 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. A reception will be held following the St. Mark service at the Morris residence.
