It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. Jacquelyne Holdcraft M.D., a beloved physician, devoted mom, and treasured friend, who left us on July 23, 2024 at the age of 87, She was born in Monroe, LA, on August 19, 1936.
Dr. Holdcraft was a pillar of the medical community, known for her exceptional skill, unwavering dedication, and genuine compassion. Over the course of 43 years in practice, she touched countless lives with her healing hands and kindred spirit. Patients and colleagues alike admired Dr. Holdcraft for her remarkable expertise and her strong ability to bring comfort and hope to those in need. This extended into the home.
Despite her professional achievements, Dr. Holdcraft remained humble and approachable, always placing the well-being of others above her own. She had a unique gift in motherhood also, adopting her son, Mark, in 1978. She was a kind but stern mother who devoted herself to his care and well being.
Dr. Holdcraft was more than just a doctor; she was a guiding light to all who knew her. Her warm smile, gentle demeanor, and boundless generosity left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. She loved to travel, read, play the piano, and sing in the church choir. She was a master of dinner parties and hospitality.
Dr. Holdcraft is survived by her loving son Mark, and nephews Robert Holdcraft, and Michael Holdcraft, Charles Spencer, and Warren Aulds. Her nieces, Jayme Spencer, and Deborah Fletcher, whose devotion to her care reflects her legacy of love and compassion. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, but her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched.
A celebration of Dr. Holdcraft's life will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at St Michaels and All Angels at 6630 Nall. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The KU hospital Department of Otolaryngology in Dr. Holdcraft's honor.
