Jacqueline's obituary

Jacqueline “Jacquie” Ann Whittle, 64 of Longview, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024. A celebration of life will be held at 1Family Fellowship, 3152 Waldron Ferry Rd. in Hallsville, on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM.

Jacquie was born on March 4, 1960 in Long Beach, New York. She was later adopted and raised by Joseph and Patricia Dent; she and her family lived in many countries throughout her childhood. As a young adult, she proudly joined the military and served her country as a member of the United States Navy. Upon completion of her time of service, she settled in Longview, Texas with her husband, Edwin “Skip” Whittle.

Jacquie did clerical work for Gregg Alarm, ITW Angleboard, and Weatherford, where she was always considered the “company mama”. She never met a stranger, she made friends wherever she went, and she always made those around her feel welcomed as they were. She had a strong and witty personality and loved a good football game or dramatic television series.

Jacquie is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Patricia Dent; her husband of 33 years, Skip Whittle; and sister Denise Gonzales.

She is survived by her 5 children: sons Michael Whittle and wife Amy of Hallsville, John Whittle and wife Emily of Longview, and James Whittle and wife, Courtney of Longview; daughters Sarah Clifton and husband Gary of Gilmer, and Danielle Warren of Longview; grandchildren Megan Lewis, Bonnie Clifton, Brodie Whittle, Kieran Warren, and Elliott Whittle; brothers Joe Dent and wife Heather of Georgia, and Rob Dent and wife Marcela of Tyler; several nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.

Jacquie was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her legacy will live on through her children, as she taught each of them to be selfless, loving, and accepting of others. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the hospital staff of Longview Regional Medical Center for her care.
