Jacqueline's obituary

Jacqueline Bernadette Warrick, beloved wife, mother, and Memere, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born on January 12, 1939, in Mesnil, France, and her childhood was shaped by the resilience and spirit required to live through World War II.

While working at a café in Toul, France, Jacqueline met the love of her life, Stephen K. Warrick, who was stationed nearby. They married in France before beginning a new chapter together in Washington with their firstborn. They eventually settled in Lake Stevens, WA, where they built a home filled with love, faith, and family, surrounded by friends and community.

Jacqueline is survived by her three children: Johnny Warrick (wife Robyn), Dave Warrick (wife Janice), and Stephanie Tolbert (husband Jay). She leaves behind four grandchildren: Elise Moehrle (husband Billy), Brittney Murrey (husband Alex), Darby Boggs, and Cassidy Sowder (husband Lance), as well as four great-grandchildren: Adelyn and Owen Moehrle, Rowan and Holden Murrey, with one more blessing on the way (Sowder).

Her Catholic faith was central to her life. Jacqueline was deeply involved with her parish, serving as a Eucharistic minister, volunteering at baptisms and funerals, and assisting with the local food bank. Her dedication to service reflected her deep compassion and generosity.

Beyond the church, Jacqueline cherished the simple joys of life. She spent Thursdays dining with her dear friend J’nene at Ixtapa or Francisco’s, and she treasured her decades-long lunches with her “French girls.” She had a fondness for a glass of vermouth or red wine, always paired with good conversation and laughter. Known for her sharp wit and humor, she could make anyone smile, and in her neighborhood she was affectionately called “the French lady up on the hill.” She delighted in gardening, feeding the deer in her backyard, and traveling near and far.

Jacqueline’s greatest joy, however, was her family—both here in the United States and across the ocean in France, where she maintained close ties. She was a pillar of her community, a source of love and encouragement, and an unforgettable presence in the lives of all who knew her.

Though her family and friends will miss her deeply, they find peace in knowing she is reunited with her beloved Stephen in Heaven.

Please join us in honoring our beloved Memere. A Rosary will be prayed on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Both services will be held at Our Lady of Hope Chapel in Everett, Washington, with a Celebration of Life to follow from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Henson Hall, located on the chapel grounds.
