Jackie's obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love we mourn the passing of Jacqueline “Jackie” Gay Reinke. A caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on January 27, 2022 at age 77.
She was born to Rudy and Hattie Meisner on April 7, 1944 in Oakland California. The family later planted their roots near Royal Nebraska with her two brothers Larry and Donald. After graduating from high school, Jackie chased her passion of helping others. With beauty school under her belt, she took her skill and singing voice into a nursing home where she found her calling to love others and make the world a better place.
Jackie met Tom Reinke in Neligh Nebraska where he “swept her off her feet”. They have spent 55 loving and adventurous years together. They raised three hardworking men, Gayle, Jason and James Reinke.
The couple moved to Meredith Colorado in 1982 where the red dirt and sky-high mountains became home. Jackie is known for being a jack of all trades who placed her heart and the fun into every situation. You could find her in a clown costume on birthdays, signing her heart out in parking lots, feeding the homeless, dancing with her husband in the kitchen, or her loving arms wrapped around you on hard days.
While raising the three boys and their rowdy friends, their home became a haven for many. Jackie worked as the head housekeeper at the Silver Tree, painted with her beloved husband Tom for their business T&G Painting and spent years devoted to their Howdy church and community. All her sons blessed her with grandchildren that were the light her of her life. (Ashley Reinke, Shane Reinke, Amber Hart, Kirstie Reinke, Kasie Reinke, Derik Reinke, Leslie Wilks, Cody Wilks and Kelsie Benton) Weekends were spent on “walk abouts” sharing life lessons while collecting all the driftwood and rocks she could possibly carry. At church you could hear her singing to the heavens. She instilled the love of God and shared her love unconditionally to all those she met; she never has met a stranger.
In 2009 the Jackie and Tom relocated to Sulphur Springs Arkansas to retire, although Jackie never did stop working. She was chasing chickens and caring for those around her. She took her last breath with her devoted husband by her side. Jackie has taught us all a lesson by the way she lived her life unapologetically herself. Filled with laughter and a bright light wherever she traveled.
She loved fiercely and deeply, and we take comfort in knowing that Jackie is now at peace with God. Surrounded by her parents, brother Larry, sister-in-law Lois, son Jason and of course Elvis Presley.
