The most important lesson I learned from the passing of my wife is how the essence of any person is their spirit and soul.  The body is the vessel the soul and spirit use to interact with the physical world.  That is why I am so joyful she was a Christian and will receive an incorruptible body to interact forever with the incorruptible physical kingdom on Earth of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I, like my sister Jean Yount, was at our parent's home the day Russell brought his new wife, Jackie, to meet us.  He had filed to let any of us know that he was even dating anyone special!  But special she was. We loved her from the start and although, due distance, young families, etc., we did not get to spend as much time together as we may have wanted, when we were together, it was clear that we all loved each other very much.  I will miss you my sister, but I will see you again, Jackie, in the Heavenly Kingdom of God! Love you.

I was the last child still living at home when Russell came to the house and came up to my bedroom to invite me downstairs to meet his wife.  My reaction was “your what?  I didn’t even know you were dating”.  When I went downstairs I met one of the most lovely woman that I will ever know.  She was beautiful, warm, and had a great smile and laugh.  Thank you, Russell for bringing this joyful, special woman into our family.

Scott Family Christmas Party 2009 — with Jackie Scott and Girel Simmons

This is what Jackie wrote to me in a card she gave me on our last anniversary:

We've walked this road together side by side and hand in hand.  We've been there for each other when things didn't go as planned.  We've laughed and cried together with our friends and families, and side by side have made the most amazing memories.  And when I'm thinking back on all the special things we shared; the love, the joy, the happiness, and all the ways we've cared.  I know that by your side is where I will always want to be, loving you forever just the same way you love me.
