Jacqueline's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jacqueline "Jackie" Hasson on August 2, 2022. Born on March 7, 1934, Jacqueline was known as Jackie to some, but preferred Jacqueline. She married her husband James Hasson in 1952, bringing into this world their two children, predeceased by their daughter, Karen Charest, and son, James Hasson.
Her legacy carries on through her surviving family. She is survived by her beloved husband, James Hasson, daughter Brenda Eldridge, son-in-law Denis Charest, and daughter-in-law Cheryl Hasson. She was a cherished sister to Theresa Veins and Jeanette Ferreira, predeceased by her brother, Pierre Veins. Jacqueline's memory also lingers in the hearts of her grandchildren, Christy, Kevin, Jayme, Evan, Emily, Winter, and Isabella Frederic, and Kevin Frederic Jr., along with her grandson Nate Morrison.
Jacqueline was laid to rest on August 7, 2022, at 8:00 PM at the Maple Grove/Linden Grove Cemetery. Jacqueline was an attendee at Portsmouth Abbey, a testament to her spiritual devotion.
Known for her thoughtful, passionate, and strong-willed nature, Jacqueline was a lover of good food, books, music, and cinema. Some of her favorite meals were Italian dishes, from Fettuccini Alfredo to Ravioli, not forgetting her love for pizza. She relished in the sweetness of pastries, particularly croissants, donuts, and cookies. Her favorite drinks ranged from good coffee, orange juice to a bit of liquor.
Jacqueline was an admirer of classical literature, with favorites including Romeo and Juliet, Midsummer's Night Dream, Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights, The Great Gatsby, The Count of Monte Cristo, and her personal favorite, To Kill a Mockingbird.
She took delight in the sounds of Dusty Springfield, The Beatles, The Supremes, and Frank Sinatra. Jacqueline also found pleasure in watching TV shows such as the classic Little Rascals cartoon, Happy Days, Taxi, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Six Million Dollar Man, and Dallas. She had a profound love for cinema, with favorites ranging from Casablanca, Psycho, Gone with the Wind, Singin' in the Rain, and It's a Wonderful Life.
A lover of art, Jacqueline appreciated the works of Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, and Andy Warhol. She was a sports enthusiast who supported the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Rangers, and New York Jets.
In her leisure time, Jacqueline enjoyed card games like Hearts, Rummy, Poker, Crazy Eights, and her favorite, High-Low Jack. Her recreational activities included sitting outside on warm days with a cup of tea, taking walks in the park, and preparing delectable meals for herself.
Her favored vacation spots were Hawaii, the Bahamas, France, Italy, and Rome. Locally, she enjoyed frequenting the park, pond, and arcade. She believed in standing up for those wronged and oppressed, making the world a better place in her own small way.
Jacqueline will be dearly missed by her loved ones and all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
