Jacqueline (Jackie) Downey Fifer, 64, of Lynchburg, died Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Lynchburg General Hospital after a long illness.

Born October 15, 1959, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Norvell Downey and Iowa Dale Downey.  She was also predeceased by her sister Christine Downey Ramsey.

Jackie attended EC Glass High School and was a graduate of Phillips Business College.

Jackie is survived by her three sons: Donald Payne, Daniel Alfred, and R. David Vest, Jr., two sisters Nora Downey Johnson (Danny) and Jan Martin Holloran (Keith); nephew Andy Ramsey and nieces Tracy Johnson (Steve) and Whitney Williams, great nephews Seth and Chance, and great niece Chalynn.

Jackie loved movies, the color yellow, all plants/flowers, especially sunflowers, and most of all her family.

She was much loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
