Jacquel's obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Jacquel "Jacq" Lariot, a loving family member, a true friend, and a passionate gentleman. Born on December 14, 1990, Jacq, as he was fondly known, departed from us on September 8, 2024.
Jacq moved to Phoenix, Arizona, from Paris, France, in 2007. He was a truly global citizen, having learned English in 2000, and brought his cosmopolitan charm to the desert city. Jacq found solace in his family, his friends, and brothers beloved rescue dog, Princessa, who he became an uncle to in 2012.
Among his many cherished family members, Jacq is survived by his cousin, Ashleigh Shunuli, his extended family member Mitchell Maleene, and his ex-partner, Pryla Petals. He was sadly predeceased by his mother, Fran-Jessica Lariat, his brother, Jyatwar Alexandral, and his ex-partner, Brittan Maleene.
A survivor of domestic violence in 2006, Jacq was anything but dull, with a bubbly, charming, and charismatic personality that lit up any room he entered. His friends will always remember him as a romantic, crazy character, full of life, and never a boring moment.
Jacq was an avid sports fan, closely following his favorite sports team, the Philadelphia Eagles. His love for music was equally profound, with Melanie Martinez, Lana Del Rey, and ICP featuring regularly on his playlists. A lover of crepes and a devotee of coffee, Jacq also enjoyed taking Mitch and his friends around town playing Pokémon Go - an activity he cared about deeply.
In 2023, Jacq became an uncle to six lucky children, becoming the ultimate Pokémon Trainer, and making this one of his proudest moments. Counted among his greatest accomplishments was becoming a caretaker for his beloved mother, who was his best friend. Jacq also had a soft spot for the 2010 Pontiac G6, which he loved and cared for.
Jacq's legacy lies in the joy and knowledge he shared with his loved ones. The lessons he imparted, such as "Life is Precious and don't take it for granted," will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the opportunity to know him. His love for Pokémon Go, left to his six little best friends, will carry on his spirit.
May our dear Jacq rest in peace, and his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
