I had the pleasure of playing golf with Jake at Eastland Greens in Clarksville.  Terry and I are retired Army and Jake was a great playing partner.  He shared his knowledge freely with me.  My prayers are with his family.

Little did I know that Jake had passed until I tried to text him today to wish him a happy new year.  We had texted early Nov 24 and I had heard no more from him.

Jake, Mark & I teamed up to play golf many times in Clarksville.  He became a much loved friend. I am saddened to hear of his passing and will cherish the memory we 3 army retirees enjoyed together on the links.  Much love to your family.

Not sure if his family can see this, but was randomly thinking of drill sergeant Meyers tonight. I believe my group was his first full graduating class back in 07 Ft Knox, always looked up to him as a young 19 year old in training. Sad to hear you passed, your passion/motivation for the Army always inspired me through my career. Rest in peace battle

Our deepest condolences on Jake's passing. He went from a life that was too short to an eternal, triumphant life in Christ Jesus. "There is no greater love than this—that a man should lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13) Jake lived that commitment.  He has earned his rest, and heaven rejoices in another Hero coming home.
My deepest condolences.  Sending love to all his family. I loved cutting Jake's hair. He always had something honest, funny and smart ass to say.  He will be missed. 💞

To the Meyers family I send my heart felt condolences. My eternal thanks to Jake for his unwavering dedication to his service for our country. The following is my favorite poem, I hope you find some comfort in it.

Hopi Prayer

Do not stand at my grave and weep.

I am not there, I do not sleep,

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on the ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn’s rain.

When you awaken in the morning hush,

I am the swift uplifting rush

of quite birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry:

I am not there, I did not die.

Deb, I am so incredibly sorry for the loss of your wonderful son.  I remember you always talking about him and how proud you are of him.  I'm heart broken for you.

Absolutely a great American. He was an outstanding leader and mentor. My condolences to you all in your difficult time. Until Fiddler's Green. Rest easy brother. Currahee Cav!

I'm struggling to find the right words as I sit here staring at another number on my phone that I can’t call anymore, one I should have called more.

Jake, you were a warrior, not just in uniform but in how you faced life. You carried burdens that were far too heavy for one person, and I’m so sorry that you felt you had to carry them alone.

Rest easy, brother. I hope you’ve found peace.

Deb & Scott, I am stunned and so sorry to hear this news. He will forever be the fun young guy who felt the patriotic necessity to serve our country, and now has paid the ultimate price for his service. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this horrible time. Much love to you all💔
