Jacob L. McLaughlin, 31 beloved sone of James and Mary McLaughlin and sister Maggie passed away peacefully at George Washington University Hospital, Washington, DC on March 25, 2025

Jacob was born and raised in Erie, PA.  He attended Our Ladys' Christian School and was a 2011 graduate of Cathedral Preparatory High School.  He attended The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA where he graduated in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in political science.

While in Erie, Jacob was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church where he was an alter server.  He was a devout catholic and attended mass regularly wherever life took him.

Jacob was a dedicated swimmer, having swam for the YMCA, Cathedral Prep (co-captain his senior year), and The College of the Holy Cross.  Jacob also achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.  He enjoyed watching Jeopardy and enjoyed following all sports and statistics.  He was a dedicated Pittsburgh Steeler and Penguin fan. 

Jacob had a passion for politics having started his career as a Data/Analytics Coordinator for "Persinger for Mayor" Campaign before moving on to Washington, DC where he worked as a manager for a super PAS for the Congressional Leadership Fund. He was currently employed with National Public Affairs as a Digital Account Marketing Manager

Jacob will be remembered by his pleasant smile, his kindness to others, and his loyalty to his family and very close friends.
