Jackie worked for my mom and was her right hand woman for a brief time down in New Orleans.  We were just talking about her and I looked her up to unfortunately find this news.  We are so sad to hear of this and are sending our prayers to the family and friends she has.   Jackie was a rare light over at my house and we appreciated her so much. She had some stye too!!

I didn't get to meet Jaclyn, but I knew she was a wonderful and beautiful person.  I knew my cousins Rick and Bob when we were young and cousin Bill and I always stay in touch.  Jaclyn's family, friends and loved ones are in my prayers each day.

There are few memories I look back on as fondly as I do our family trips to Saugatuck, Michigan and getting to hang with my cool cousins. Jackie was always so sweet with Jack and I, slowing down to walk with us, doing cool face-paint designs, and playing games. I will always look up to Jackie’s adventurous side and her kindness. Sending so much love, my heart is heavy.

Wendy will of course remember this well. On March 1, 1985 I found myself rushing my then wife Barb to the hospital as the coming birth of our son Patrick was imminent.  While wheeling her down the maternity hallway, I hear a commotion behind me and  feet behind me, here come our good friends Wendy, pregnant with Jackie in a wheelchair, pushed by Rick Waites!  The moms got adjacent rooms and their private nurse Jean Eilman ran between rooms for both births while caring for the moms’ needs.

Jackie always was such a sweetie.  She remains, and always will be loved by us all.

Jackie and I were together for 5 years, and in that time we went through a lot. She was one of the most capable, independent people I’ve ever known and to this day nothing she accomplished came as a surprise. She lit up a room with her personality, always made people laugh and could find a way to relate to anyone. Her confidence in whatever she did was always something I admired, and her love for those closest to her was unwavering. When she told me she planned to move to New Orleans, we decided to stay together until the day she left and enjoy what was left of our relationship. Those last 3 months were my favorite memories we had together. We loved each other more then than we had in the years leading up to that point, and were hopeful about each other’s futures. I will be forever grateful to her for having the courage to recognize that our relationship had come to an end, albeit a happy one, so that we could move on to new adventures separately. She was a beautiful, intelligent, hilarious, brave woman. To Wendy, Ian, and the rest of Jackie’s family and friends, thank you for supporting her in her choices and always loving her every step of the way. You were everything to her and I got to witness that first hand. I can’t express how sorry I am that she is gone, and I love you all with my whole heart. You’re all in my thoughts and will be for a very long time.

Road Trip Trio. Emily, Jackie and I shared many out of town road trips. We shared a love of music, art, food, and nature. Jackie’s humor, wit, and genuine heart will be missed forever. I was blessed to have been her friend, and am thankful for the memories.

"Let your mind start a journey through a strange new world. Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before. Let your soul take you where you long to be. Close your eyes, let your spirit start to soar, and you’ll live as you’ve never lived before."
Erich Fromm.
My Jackie Prayer: I will miss without a doubt your beautiful and energetic physical presence. So many thoughts and memories of you fill me and always will. I visualize you soaring through the heavens with a magic wand like the most beautiful fairy princess. Please, remember you were always loved and treasured! Jackie, touch us with your spirit wand and lift us all up to a higher level of love while we appreciate all the beauty that abounds around us. Forever, your loving Uncle Pip
