Jack's obituary

Jack V. Watkins was born to Reuben Alexander Watkins and Eunice Martha Watkins on March 21st, 1937, in Brownwood, Texas. He served in the US Air Force from March 1st, 1957-May 16th, 1962 in the Black Sheep Squadron Unit, and received the National Defense Service Medal. He and his cherished wife, Alta, were married for 68 blissful years. Together, they have 4 children, 17 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

At 88 years old, Jack peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 9th, 2025 while surrounded by the family he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben Watkins and Eunice Watkins, his sisters, Ellen Jones, Elizabeth Aldridge, Patricia Abney, his brother, Lonnie Watkins, his son-in-law, Dan Dulany, and his great-grandson, Jayse Sosa.

Aside from his love for his family, Jack loved and served the Lord with fervor, and raised his children to walk in His footsteps. His love of music was passed down to each generation, leaving a legacy of praise to the King. Though his absence on this earth leaves a void in the hearts of all who love him, they will forever be thankful to God for the wonderful gift of Jack V. Watkins.
