Dear Emma,  Our family feels devastated for you - this is so difficult and so unfair it’s hard to imagine.  You are such a strong and positive person and I know you have beautiful memories with Jack to sustain you in dark days. I wish I had seen Jack after he was a little boy.  Everyone tells me I would have loved him.. I am sure he and I would have loved to be together.  R.I.P Jack.  My condolences to Emma and the Casey family.❤️

Jack and I had been going to school together since pre-k. He was kind, hilarious, smart, and always uniquely himself. I remember him brushing my hair during reading time in kindergarten and him helping me with Physics in high school. I’m so proud he pursued his military aviation career and accomplished so much at such a young age. 

He was taken from this Earth way to early and I’ll never understand why. 

I could not be more sorry for your loss. Jacks death is a complete tragedy and he will be missed immensely by so many.

Talking with Jack throughout the engagement planning was incredibly touching. Hearing him speak about his feelings about Emma in a one-on-one setting on multiple occasions remains my favorite group of memories with him. It was always impressive and touching to see how the most hilarious man’s-man could have such powerful emotional intelligence and love. The privilege I felt to hear and see both sides of that time in their lives is immeasurable. Love you both, Jack & Emma. Always.

My sympathy and prayers to the Casey family.  Although I do not know Jack and Emma, my daughter Laura and son in law Ricardo, speak very highly of them.  God bless you all.  Thank you for your service.

My son (Quinn) was a "rat" in Jack's "dyke" room at VMI, making Jack his uncle-dyke (in VMI-lingo). The week before breakout (the completion of the ratline) in early 2019, known as Rez-week, firsts (which is what Jack was) get to send  rat (scared freshmen) on "missions." Jack was friends with the regimental commander. He drew a map of the commander's barracks room and sent a rat to the room, with exact details on how to come up behind the regimental commander silently while he was playing a video game and "flip his hay" (the mattress, which is unrolled onto a wood platform with legs)... then run! My son was in the room when that rat got back, sweaty from running and very stressed, reporting, "I flipped the hay, sir!"  From across the way, he also heard the regimental commander saying, "Jack!" He knew who sent him. I am sure there are many stories my son did not tell me, but I know he really looked up to Jack. When my son graduated from VMI in May of 2022, we took pictures and finished all the ceremonies. After we walked out of Cameron Hall and began to walk across the parade field to leave, out of the blue he said, "now there is no one left here that knew Jack Casey in person."   I am so very sorry for your loss, and so very grateful that, for a short time, my son got to watch, learn from, and laugh with your beloved husband, friend, brother, and son. Although I never met Jack, my heart hurts for you all. As a mom of a Marine myself, every loss of a Marine hits hard. My thoughts are with you all as you grieve your very special Marine. Semper Fi!

Thoughts & Prayers to the Casey family. 

Jack really was someone that was one of a kind. I was lucky to know him as one of my brother's best friends growing up. Goofy, a little mischievous, but smart and respectful at the same time. He was always making a funny face and making someone laugh. The photo of him in his St. Mary's basketball shirt is how I will always remember him. I wanted to share a few photos and memories~

Jack came with us to Salem, Massachusetts in October 2009 for Halloween houses and general Salem activities. On the way home we got dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. We all ordered the orange chicken and Jack ordered a caesar salad. We all made fun of him for ordering the salad, and then when our food came his salad was triple the size of our meals! We spent the whole dinner laughing over his gigantic bowl of lettuce.

Jesse and Jack were science fair partners in 8th grade in 2011 and made a radio out of an oatmeal can. Their number for their project was number eight. When they announced the winner of the science fair, they said "First place goes to number eight....teen!" We really thought they were going to win for a second there.

Jack also joined us for a camping trip to Gunstock for Labor Day Weekend in 2011. Jesse, Jack, my boyfriend Jake, and my friend Sarah's boyfriend all shared a tent together that weekend. They called it "Bro Tent" and made a flag for it out of an old wifebeater. That same weekend, Sarah was driving us around the campsite in her mom's minivan when Jack hopped out of it. He ran alongside the van, and then tried to jump back into it. We were probably driving about 15mph. Jack was not able to pull this stunt off and hit the ground- hard. He was covered in cuts and bruises but was hysterically laughing. We all had to lie when we got back to the campsite about how Jack got so injured!

Jack's impact on so many of us has been felt throughout the community with the news of his passing. May there be comfort in knowing that someone so special will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Jack.
