Yes, I was very sad to hear of Jack’s passing because I did not know he was seriously ill. I worked with Jack for about 20 years at the Illinois Dept. of Public Health before I retired at the end of 2016. Of course, I continued to see Jack at the annual Illinois Mosquito and Vector Control Association meetings. Jack was very knowledgeable about biology, surveillance, and control of mosquitoes. He also was an excellent independent field worker who was always upbeat. He also had a deep interest in all aspects of natural history. He will be missed by his family, friends, and former colleagues.  Linn Haramis
Jack was a long time friend & a very very cool, intelligent, interesting, sweet, kind & loyal man. His love of nature & music & mutual friends brought us together! He is missed but he will never be forgotten. See you on the other side sooner than later brother. Om Namah Shivaya
