Jack's obituary
Jack Stevens lived life the way it should be lived—on the water, in the stands, at the jobsite, or on the couch yelling at the Oakland / Las Vegas Raiders. Born with a big heart and an even bigger sense of humor, Jack never missed an opportunity to make someone laugh - whether it was intentional or not.
At the center of Jack’s world was his wife, Erika, his partner through it all. Together they built a life full of love, and laughter, as well as a hefty amount of sarcasm. He was also the proudest dad and grandpa you could ever meet—cheering his daughter through every softball game and finding a new best buddy in his grandson, Jace, who quickly became his partner-in-crime. If you knew Jack, you knew he was a goofball through and through—always silly, always playful, and always happiest with friends and family close by.
Outside of work, Jack loved to be out on the water in his boat with his daughter and her friends, teaching them his ways on the water. Without a doubt, Jack was always teaching, falling into the water, or making others laugh, but always had a cold one (or two) in hand. He truly made things happen, Captain!
Jack was blessed with lifelong friendships that meant the world to him. Some of his best times were spent laughing along the side of his lifelong crew: Michael Gallegos, Doug Foster, Gordon Joel, Ronnie Bald, Lambert Walsh, and Rod Brower. Their bond was built on countless stories, adventures, and beers shared along the way.
Sundays were sacred in Jack’s world aka in his Man Cave—reserved for Raider football, a "little" amount of yelling at the TV in an understatement, but he made sure to have an extra beer or two for good luck (though the Raiders often needed more than that).
Jack’s life was full of love, laughter, craftsmanship, and a touch of mischief. He leaves behind memories that will forever make us smile. He showed us that it’s okay to be silly, to enjoy the ride, and to never take life too seriously.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Erika, his daughter Lexi, and his grandson Jace—who will carry on his goofball legacy.
So, here’s to Jack: a master builder, a water-skier, a Raider faithful, a tall can jokester, and above all, a husband, dad, grandpa, and friend who loved fiercely. May his spirit live on every time we laugh, cheer, or raise a glass.
