Jack's obituary

Jack Anthony Sorrell, aged 68, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. A man of many talents and passions, Jack was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose legacy will be cherished by all who knew him.

Born with a natural affinity for music, Jack was a phenomenal drummer and a dedicated member of the band J and the Two Tones. His love for rhythm and melody was matched only by his enthusiasm for classic cars, which he not only admired but also meticulously restored. This passion for restoration and engineering was evident in his professional life as well. Jack served as a general engineer for the New York State Department of Transportation, a role he held with pride until his semi-retirement. Even then, he continued to find joy in his work with Mecum and Certi Fleet, a company that shared his love for automobiles.

Jack's personal life was enriched by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Charlene, and 5 children: Nicole, Jamie, Mandi, and Darrell. He was predeceased by his daughter, Stacey, whose memory he cherished deeply. Jack's legacy extends to his 13 grandchildren and a great-grandson, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

Jack Anthony Sorrell will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, his dedication to his craft, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His life was a testament to the power of passion and the enduring bonds of his family. He will be dearly missed and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is a true legend that will forever live on.

A special celebration of life service will be held Sunday at 2pm at the Ridge Manor Club House.
