I remember always being envious -- in a good way, now -- about Jack Anthony Patterson Jr. when we were students at Luther High School South. While I was struggling just to stay awake and survive Pre-Algebra, Jack was walking through the "real" Math classes easily like he had written the textbooks himself. And that laugh! We all remember that! I at least took solace that someone so advanced found my jokes -- or, perhaps, tales of teenage angst/woe -- humorous. Jack was one good brother!

I did not know it was Jack's birthday yesterday, but he was on my mind today.  I was thinking about Mother's Day and everything family meant to Jack.  I pray you had blessed day today Tara, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Christ's Peace, Guy

Jack and I met almost two years ago when he came to work at Windstream. Jack made an immediate impact both professionally and personally. Jack and I would have weekly 1-on-1 meetings and really enjoyed talking not just about work, but faith and family as well. He was such a good natured person!

                                         Ballad for Baba

They called him Baba,

The fatherly name the ancestors bore,

He wore it proudly,

When he cared for his brood, which he adored.

He worked 400 hour weeks,

How he did it only God knows,

Had a vision for his family,

Future plans, dreams, he did implore.

His travels took him overseas,

To the land of Aladin and magic things,

Burn barrels burning throughout the night,

Ominous haze burning bright.

He build a network there,

Not just virtual and broadband,

Making friends with everyone,

Living in tents upon the sand.

He was a son, brother, husband, and father, in that order,

He served God, because Jesus walked on water,

Took his family to church and read the Bible,

Taught his family important lessons for survival.

God has prepared a place for you,

Every promise that He made to us is true,

So take your rest Jack Anthony,

You leave behind a dynasty.

L.A. Lindsay

Sending love and comfort during this difficult time.
Sending condolences to Brother Tony's loved ones. May his memory continue to live in the minds and hearts of all those who knew him and whose lives he touched.
My condolences to Jack's family and friends.  I knew Jack for a short couple of years and will always remember that room brightening smile and the energy he brought to the table when I worked with him.  It was such a pleasure working with him and he will absolutely be missed.  We didn't get to hit the road overseas as planned but I am sure we will cross paths again.  Thank you for who you were and what you did while here.  Good vibes on your new path, Brother.

To Tara and the Patterson family:

Truly a kind spirit and much loved family man and friend.  Your smile and laugh could light up a room.  It was a blessing to have known you; thank you and your family for the full, rich memories we shared.  I will certainly keep the Patterson family in my thoughts and prayers.

Please accept our condolences and know that you are in our thoughts and hearts.
To the family of Jack Anthony Patterson

Please accept our sincere condolence. May memories of Tony and the love of family surround you and give you strength in the days ahead.

I worked with Jack for almost 18 months and as many people have stated, his smile was infectious and could light up a room.  I also shared a love for Christian movies so we had numerous discussions on our favorite movies.  He was a wonderful co-worker whom everyone enjoyed working with.

Glad he is no longer in pain and in the eternal presence of our Lord and Savior!

Prayers for the entire Patterson family during this time of mourning.

When Tony was seeking his security clearance, he listed me as a friend who knew him. The investigator came to my work and asked me a series of questions. I let it be  known that I met him through his sister Jacqui, and that later he and his wife Tara became friends of mine.  That was the hardest thing for the investigator to understand.  He continued to ask questions in a circuitous manner.

My phone rang and it was another friend giving me information about her son, who was a blind runner in the Boston Marathon.  He pushed a chariot, which contained another young man who had autism.  I wanted to know how they were making out in the run.  I took the call and then quickly got back to the interview.  The interviewer was stunned.  He told me that the young man with autism in the chariot was a friend of his family; and that he had never interviewed someone who had a connection to him.  What made this incredible was, he was investigating Tony Patterson, someone who was out of state.

I asked him if he had additional questions and he indicated that he had enough information.  He began the process with disbelief that people could be connected through friendship, one to another, but in the end, realized that God, who is never random calls us all together for his purpose.  Of course Tony received his security clearance.  Only six-degrees separate us.  God created us so that we may work together, so that in the end, He may be glorified!

Jack was a Loyal, dedicate and a very hard working never complained and always ask what could he do next. Everyone at the Braves Loved Jack smile and his unique laugh.  Praying that God gives you all strength and comfort in this difficult time. Until we meet again Jack you will be forever missed.
